'The Mountains and Me' depicts the deep connection that I have with nature.
I often feel at ease when surrounded by nature - I have very fond childhood memories in the garden. When I began this piece I used the canvas as an outlet for the emotional turmoil that I was facing. The mountains and 'nature' that I depict in my work are evocative of tranquility and transcendence and despite the intensity of colour/ repetitive motifs/ the large scale, the piece is extroadinarily calming for me, and full of hope.
